Montana’s Bridger Mountains bringing an amazing backdrop to weddings at Roys Barn in Bozeman

DO YOU SHOOT DESTINATION WEDDINGS?

Yes, yes, yes! That can happen in two ways - here in Montana, or anywhere in the world you want to go! If Montana is your destination wedding location I can capture that for you and share my local knowledge with you to make your wedding adventure absolutely amazing!

Or, I can adventure with you to anywhere in the world and we can make your dream wedding images come to life! I love to travel, and meeting your dream wedding needs is my jam!

The Chateau Event Center offers Bozeman a very European feel that dovetails beautifully with Montana’s adventurous lifestyle.

WILL THERE BE A SECOND SHOOTER?

All of the pre-designed packages include a second shooter. Any custom packages can also include a second shooter.

There are some weddings where one is not required because the venue is easily accessable to one photographer and the entire wedding party is getting ready there. These usually smaller venues are wonderful, but sometimes they are so small that you don’t really want a second photographer wondering around the grounds. So if you chose one, let’s talk about whether you need a second shooter, and where to put your resources instead.

Where the second shooter is absolutely necessary are weddings where the wedding parties are getting ready in different locations. To adequately cover the important details of the day, a second shooter is always recommended for these situations.

A caveat: Many weddings are best served with a second shooter, but it is not necessary for them to be there the entire time. We will discuss what is the best option for your wedding when we look at any customization of your package.

ON AVERAGE, HOW MANY WEDDINGS DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH EACH YEAR?

At this time Elements of Light Photography only photographs a maximum of 15 weddings in a given year. Many years it is closer to 10 weddings during the “high season” of Mid-May to Mid-October. These numbers do not counting weddings where we jump in and second shoot for another photographer, as those weddings are directed and edited by someone else.

This pace of weddings is purposeful to preserve the ability to do the best quality work for both the Wedding and Boudoir components of our offerings. It also allows for quicker turn-around in wedding galleries (which always makes our couples happy!) and more accessability for our clients both before the wedding during the planning stage and after the wedding when prints and albums require attention.

DO WE HAVE TO ORDER OUR PRINTS THROUGH YOU?

No, you do not. But, due to variances in equipment and quality of printing I am not able to stand behind the product you will receive when printing elsewhere. I do offer printing through several top labs around the country, and when I am shepherding the printing, I can make sure that the color is exactly as it should be, so that what you hang on your wall or put on your desk is precisely what you expected!

If you decide to print your own images, all packages come with digital files that are suitable for printing up to an 8x10 size photograph, and a print release for those images. If you desire to print a larger image, you may purchase a full sized file for that image and take it wherever you would like to have it printed.

For every wedding, I provide you an online gallery that you can share with your friends and loved ones that is connected to a “store” where I can shepherd the printing of images and arrange delivery to you. This means you do not have to coordinate the printing for friends and family - they can do it exactly as they want without involving you. This can save you a lot of time and effort.

HOW MUCH DOES WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY WITH ELEMENTS OF LIGHT COST?

The answer really is “that depends!”

I have created wedding packages with the most sought after services, and these start at $4,000. However, we can create a custom package for you, and those can start as low as $2500. Custom packages to get you more of what you want are available, as well as packages that allow you to meet a smaller budget. . Elopement packages (2 - 4 hours) begin at $2000. All packages include at least one print product, which can be exchanged for a print credit, and all wedding prints ordered within 30 days of gallery delivery receive a 20% discount - this includes orders by your friends and family.

Yes! We can incorporate your horses into your engagement photo session - this is Montana after all!

WHY DO YOU INCLUDE ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS IN EVERY PACKAGE?

All of my packages do include engagement sessions, and when we create a custom packages, if possible, I like to include them because they give us a chance to get to know each other. I am the person you will likely spend the most time with on your wedding day. So you need to try me on for size, give me feedback about what works for your personality and what doesn’t. And I love having the opportunity to get to know you so I can better pose you on the big day.

Bottom line is: doing an engagement session together makes for a much less stressful wedding day because you know what to expect from the person behind the camera, and I know how to meet your particular needs to create better images.

SOME QUICK QUESTIONS:

How long does it take to receive our wedding images?

The contract will say within 8 weeks - I’ve never missed a deadline! But usually I deliver in 4 - 6 weeks. But you will get a sneak peek at your photos within 72 hours of your wedding.

Can we extend your services for longer on the day of the wedding if we need?

Yes! Your contract will explain how to do this and what the cost is.

Can we order an album through you?

Yes, I have several different options for beautiful keepsake albums.

Do you shoot film?

Not at weddings, but yes, I know how to do that. I’m old enough to have learned photography on film. Love the look, but can get that from my digital files far more efficiently.

What kind of gear do you use?

I am a Canon girl, and I bring two cameras to every wedding, and a series of prime lenses (no zoom, I’ve got to use my feet). Prime lenses get sharper images, which is why I choose them. I have a flash and can use it off camera if required, but for the most part natural light and a speed light on the camera will meet the needs for my style.

How can we reserve our date with you?

Click on the “Request a Consultation” button just below here - that will get you to a page where you can email me and I will get back to you (usually same day, always within 24 hours).

Do you help us with our wedding day schedule so there is time for all the photos we want?

Yes! I have scheduling tool that I use. It can accommodate all the different activities you want to include in your day and is flexible to customization for your particular needs.
